The "Remember When" Dollhouseby Phyllis Gift Jellison, ISBN 0-442-24128-3 Front and back covers of the book, side view of house showing opening front and back. I am quite excited about the prospect of finishing this halfscale dollhouse. It will take quite some time as everything will be made by moi. No buying ready-made staircases, windows, doors, furniture etc. I must craft it all! It all started with a book I bought way....... back in 1978 called "The 'Remember When' Dollhouse" by Phyllis Gift Jellison. Many, many, many years passed. Then for Christmas 2002 I cut out my own kitset version of this house (in halfscale). It took me 11 days to convert all the basic house measurements down from one inch to half inch scale and to cut out the MDF. Months later I glued this self-made kitset together and added the weatherboard cladding. I also made a few windows. Then, unfortunately, the project became an unfinished object (UFO). Sniff!!!! That brings me to now 1 April 2007. I've made the kitchen table, gas stove, sink, and cake box refrigerator. For the parlor I've made the settee, side chairs, Beckwith piano and fireplace. More details about these are to come.
